What we collect

When you book a cruise we collect the name, email address and phone number of everyone in your party, because the captain needs a manifest and everyone aboard signs a waiver. We also keep what you told us about the trip and what you paid.

Card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers. We keep a token that lets us place the refundable damage hold before your cruise and release it afterwards.

Text messages

Marissa Cruises sends text messages only about a cruise you have booked. When you book, you may opt in with a checkbox that is not pre-selected and reads: "I agree to receive text messages from Marissa Cruises about my booking: booking confirmations, schedule or weather changes, and check-in details for your cruise. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Reply HELP for help or email fun@marissacruises.com. Consent is not a condition of purchase." We do not send marketing texts, and we do not sell, rent or share mobile numbers or SMS consent with third parties for their own marketing. You can stop the messages at any time by replying STOP.

Website analytics and advertising

Our public pages use Google Tag Manager, which loads measurement and advertising tools from Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads) and Meta (the Meta Pixel, for Facebook and Instagram). We use them to see how people find the site, to measure whether our ads work, and to show our ads to people who have visited the site before. These tools set cookies and tell Google and Meta which pages you visit, the device and browser you use, and roughly where you are. Google and Meta may connect that to an account you have with them, under their own privacy policies.

These tools never run on your trip, payment, waiver or review pages, and they never see your booking details, your party’s names or anything you sign.

You can turn them off. Block cookies in your browser’s settings, use Google’s Analytics opt-out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, change your ad settings at myadcenter.google.com and in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences, or opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at optout.aboutads.info.

Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are not tracked for advertising or analytics at all.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no agreed standard for what it should mean, so our site does not change what it does when it receives one. The ways to turn tracking off above work whatever your browser sends.

Who we share it with

Only the services that make the booking work: Stripe for payment, Resend for email, Twilio for text messages, and our hosting and database providers. Google and Meta receive the website activity described above. We never sell your booking details, and we never give your name, email or phone number to anyone for their own marketing.

Getting it removed

Email fun@marissacruises.com and we’ll delete what we’re not required to keep for tax or liability reasons. The same address works if you want to see what we hold about you or have it corrected.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update it on this page and change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use details you’ve already given us, we email you before it takes effect.
